چکیده

In this note, we prove that for every θ ≥ 115 121 and x ≥ x0(θ), the short interval (x, x + xθ] contains at least one prime number of the form p = 1+m2 +n2 with (m,n) = 1. This improves a similar result due to Huxley and Iwaniec, which requires θ ≥ 99 100 . §

Prime numbers of the form p = m 2 + n 2 + 1 in short intervals

where the summation runs over primes, a is a fixed non-zero integer and r(n) is the number of representations of n as a sum of two squares. This implies the first unconditional proof that there are infinitely many primes of the form p = m+n+1. Huxley and Iwaniec [1] considered primes of the formm+n+1 with (m,n) = 1 in the short interval (x, x+x]. They proved that for θ = 99/100 this interval co...

The power digraphs of safe primes

A power digraph, denoted by $G(n,k)$, is a directed graph with $Z_{n}={0,1,..., n-1}$ as the set of vertices and $L={(x,y):x^{k}equiv y~(bmod , n)}$ as the edge set, where $n$ and $k$ are any positive integers. In this paper, the structure of $G(2q+1,k)$, where $q$ is a Sophie Germain prime is investigated. The primality tests for the integers of the form $n=2q+1$ are established in terms of th...

Let X be a large parameter. We will first give a new estimate for the integral moments of primes in short intervals of the type (p, p + h], where p ≤ X is a prime number and h = o(X). Then we will apply this to prove that for every λ > 1/2 there exists a positive proportion of primes p ≤ X such that the interval (p, p + λ log X ] contains at least a prime number. As a consequence we improve Che...

On the variance of sums of arithmetic functions over primes in short intervals and pair correlation for L-functions in the Selberg class

We establish the equivalence of conjectures concerning the pair correlation of zeros of L-functions in the Selberg class and the variances of sums of a related class of arithmetic functions over primes in short intervals. This extends the results of Goldston and Montgomery [‘Pair correlation of zeros and primes in short intervals’, Analytic number theory and Diophantine problems (Stillwater, 19...
